HOW TO SQOOSH

Screening 11H00 - 12H00

Synopsis

Welcome to “How to Sqoosh”, the live TV programme that shrivels, crushes, squashes and pulverises monsters and anything else that spooks kids, both young and not so young. Witches, ogres, ghosts and monsters of all kinds best behave themselves if they don’t want to end up flattened like pancakes. The show is presented by a crack team: the intrepid Chloé, head shriveller, who, at the age of 8, is determined not to let down her guard. She is accompanied by Spouki, a reflection of her own fears, and by the faithful monster she thinks she has tamed. But as we shall see, it’s a little more complicated than that…

Synopsis

In this series, Thomas, our Othello, is no longer the brave leader of the Venetian army, but the unflappable leader of a Parkour crew. By his side, we find the good-humoured Michele and the quick-witted Gaia. They all get along well, until they meet Beatrice Virgili, the most beautiful girl in school, who both Thomas and Gaia end up falling for. When an intense romance develops between Beatrice and Thomas, Gaia, struck with envy towards her friend, hatches a meticulous plan to separate the two lovers. Gaia’s underhanded persuasion tactics take effect and Thomas’ insecurities erupt into a blind jealousy that ends up destroying his love for Beatrice and his friendship with Michele. In a season finale where no one comes out on top, the real tragedy for the protagonists is their awareness of adulthood and their sense of disenchantment whilst also having the opportunity to investigate their own frailties, work through their mistakes or, simply grow up!

Access restricted to people over 16 year old.

LAMPIE

Screening 17H00 - 18H30

SYNOPSIS

Based on Annet Schaap’s captivating fairy tale and adventure story, which has sold 120,000 copies in the Netherlands, Lampie is a fascinating narrative of unconditional love, friendship and the right to be different. Every evening, Lampie, the lighthouse keeper’s daughter, lights a lantern to warn ships away from the rocks. But one stormy night, disaster strikes. The lantern goes out, a ship sinks and an adventure begins. Disgraced, Lampie is sent to work as a servant at the black house of the Admiral, where rumour has it that a monster lurks the tower. What she finds instead is Edward, a boy with the tail of a fish. He is angry at the world and hungry for the love of his father, the Admiral, who is embarrassed by his deformity. Lampie and Edward become friends, and when she takes him swimming, she is drawn into a fairytale world of mermaids and pirates. When the Admiral, enraged by what Lampie has done, threatens to sell Edward to a carnival operator and hang the girl’s father, Lampie is faced with an impossible choice: will she save her father or her best friend?

The screening of “Lampie” is open to children aged 12 and over.

Synopsis

Bomer plays charismatic Hawkins Fuller, who maintains a financially rewarding, behind-the-scenes career in politics. Hawkins avoids emotional entanglements – until he meets Tim Laughlin, a young man who’s brimming with idealism and religious faith. They begin a romance just as Joseph McCarthy and Roy Cohn declare war on “subversives and sexual deviants,” initiating one of the darkest periods in 20th-century American history. Over the course of four decades, we follow our five main characters – Hawk, Tim, Marcus, Lucy and Frankie – as they cross paths through the Vietnam War protests of the 1960s, the drug-fueled disco hedonism of the 1970s and the AIDS crisis of the 1980s while facing obstacles in the world and within themselves.

Access restricted to people over 16 year old.
