Synopsis
Detective-Sergeant André Surprenant takes charge of the report on the disappearance of Rosalie Richard, daughter of the mayor of Îles-de-la-Madeleine, even if it means canceling his vacation. The next day, the teenager’s body is found in a sordid scene that sends the whole village into a frenzy.
The police officers of Cap-aux-Meules are overwhelmed by the violence of the crime but Surprenant leads his team with tact. He learns that the investigation has been entrusted to Chief Inspector Sébastien Gingras, an arrogant rival dispatched from Quebec City. Tension quickly mounts between the two men as the list of suspects grows longer. Fortunately, Surprenant can count on his colleague Geneviève Savoie to help him solve the murder. In this isolated archipelago where everyone knows everyone, the murder of young Rosalie shakes up the small community of the Madelinots and puts all the inhabitants of the Islands and their secrets under the spotlight.

2024 | Britain | Biopic, thriller
Premiere – Season 1 – 6x45 min – 2 episodes screened
Synopsis
Inspired by the real Joan Hannington and certain events from her life, Joan is an exhilarating and emotional new six-part series created and written by the acclaimed screenwriter Anna Symon, directed by BAFTA award-winner Richard Laxton and starring Emmy-nominated Sophie Turner.
The series opens with Joan, a fiery and uncompromising woman in her twenties who is deeply scarred and vulnerable. She is a devoted mother to her six-year-old daughter, Kelly, but is trapped in a disastrous marriage with a violent criminal named Gary. When Gary goes on the run, Joan seizes the opportunity to create a new life for herself and her daughter.
Adopting new identities and making new acquaintances along the way, Joan becomes a masterful jewel thief. She embarks on a thrilling, high-stakes journey that challenges her every limit, driven by her desire to care for her daughter and create a secure home for them both.
Through her sharp intelligence, charm, and talent for impersonation and performance, we follow the twists and turns in Joan’s life, the ups and downs, the heartache and the joy that makes this story so compelling to follow.
