AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS

Screening 19H00

Synopsis

London, 1872. Phileas Fogg (David Tennant) takes a foolhardy bet: that he can travel around the world in eighty days. Will this gentleman, who is accustomed to comfort, succeed in finishing a journey that is as risky as it is ambitious? Fogg is soon joined by Passepartout (Ibrahim Koma), who opportunely puts himself at his service, and by Abigail Fix (Leonie Benesch), a young journalist intent on covering the adventure of the century. In the course of their race against time, our three heroes will discover the world and overcome great challenges that will lead them to reveal the best of themselves, as they learn the importance of tolerance, trust in others, and love…

CLOSE TO ME

Screening 10H30

Synopsis

Jo Harding wakes up, in a pool of her own blood, at the bottom of the stairs of her impeccably decorated home in the countryside. Her doting husband Rob rushes her to hospital – and we realise she has forgotten the entire last year of her life.

As she and Rob begin to rebuild their relationship – she tries to piece together her version of what happened over the past twelve months, as she can’t shake the feeling that some of her memories are being kept from her – on purpose. Her personality has changed too – the once passive, do-everything-for-everyone wife and mother has gone and a defiant woman stands in her place. Little by little, Jo’s memories begin to come back, and gradually a picture emerges of a year of drastic change – rifts with her children, dementia, different jobs and friends, building resentments and betrayals. In the confusion, Jo begins to question whether she can trust anyone around her – including herself. As she tries to piece together this impossible jigsaw puzzle, one question hangs over it all – what happened at the top of the stairs on the night of her accident?
