Synopsis

In an idyllic community nestled on the Kentish coast, the murder of a local young woman sends ripples of shock and gossip through the town. When the respected village doctor, Tom Fairchild, is arrested, all prying eyes turn to his wife, Beth. Beth’s background is very different from the affluent suburbia she married into, and she is determined to protect her family and their reputation above everything. However, when Tom is exonerated due to a lack of evidence, Beth uncovers proof of her husband’s double life and dark sexual proclivities, forcing her to re-examine everything she knew about the man she married. As cold cases reopen and more dead women are linked to Tom, Beth’s own past becomes headline news, leading her to seek help from Adam, her husband’s best friend. As Beth peels away the layers of her supposedly perfect life, she’ll be forced to confront disturbing questions about herself and her marriage: Has she ignored signs of her husband’s violence all along? And does she truly know the man she vowed to spend her life with?

Synopsis

On his wedding day, Paul is shocked by the unexpected return of Joseph, his childhood sweetheart whom he hasn’t seen for twenty years. This shock brings back searing memories of the summer of 1983, when they first met as teenagers. Their relationship, both intense and forbidden, was marked by a dazzling love, but also by violent homophobic harassment that broke them apart. Paul finds himself overwhelmed by doubts about his life choices, particularly his marriage, and the emotions linked to this past love. He relives that period of his youth, when their bond caused tensions in their circle, leading to a tragic night that turned their lives upside down forever. Through Joseph’s return, Paul must confront his past and question what he has lost by choosing to bury this love. The film explores themes of homophobia, regret and the search for identity, blending passion and tragedy in deep introspection.
